Your Network
Marketing Email List
Your Network Marketing email list is your key to
developing strong clients AND a strong down line.
Your email list is not something you purchase; it
is something you build over time. It is YOUR list. It reflects all
your hard work generating website traffic and is your pathway to online
network marketing profitability.
Opt-In Network Marketing Email
List vs Purchased Lists
I
wish all mail were opt-in email. I get so much junk it absolutely
astounds me. You probably get as much as I do. An opt-in
email is an email that you have asked to get. And it is one you
can cancel whenever you want, like a newsletter subscription.
An opt-in subscription is like the one in the left
column. I invite you to join, and you opt to do so. Any
reputable marketing company will immediately send you an email, asking
you to confirm that you are indeed subscribing. This is just good
manners, and it keeps other people from subscribing you without your
knowing. We certainly mind our manners here.
A
"purchased list" is very different. It is a list of email
addresses that you buy from a broker. Nobody asked to be on this
list. Brokers just gather those email addresses willy nilly from
the internet.
There are other differences, too.
Your opt-in subscriber list allows you to regularly
send emails to prospects with new offers and information. A
purchased list allows you to send one email, often under the list
owner's direction.
Your opt-in subscriber list is free. The
purchased list is not.
| Your opt-in internet marketing email list
comes from people who have visited your site and who like what
they see. A purchased list is a mishmash of strangers who
have never heard of you. |
So, go ahead. Buy a list if you want
to. But it is a waste of money. You are much, much better
off with your own opt-in network marketing email list.
So Can You Sell Your Email
List?
Don't. Respect the privacy of your
subscribers. Whenever anyone asks if they can purchase my list, I
tell the NO. "But," I add craftily, "I would love to have you as
an advertiser on my newsletter." That way, you can make some money
and you've protected your subscribers from unscrupulous
promoters.
How Often to Send
Emails?
A
weekly email notification of special offers or interesting articles is
enough to keep in touch and build credibility. Some people send it every
other week, and that is fine too. I know one very successful
network marketer who sends an email "from time to time", whenever she
has something significant to say.
Choose the frequency that suits your style and your
time availability. Weekly emails are tough.
Your Email
Subject
Capturing interest in your Subject line is a high
bar, but it is what is needed to keep your readers interested.

Good Grief, What Do I Write
About?
You'd think you had enough information on your
website. So what else is there to say?
Well, for starters, you don't need much. A
story or two. A few paragraphs about something new or
exciting. A reminder about something that's been around for a
while. A response to an interesting email you received.
Short and sweet is the rule of the game. Just
enough to be interesting and remind them that you are still there.
The Ezine
Freebie
People will not subscribe to a network marketing
email list without a good reason. Some sites use "welcome gifts" to
entice people to sign up, such as a free e-course, or a free e-book
download. They get a free product and you get their names. If you use
that information intelligently, you will have the better deal.
And, I know this sounds obvious, but it is
important: Make the freebie something that really is useful for the kind
of visitors that will come to your site.
The Scoop on Auto
Responders
An email goes out once. An auto responder goes out
a number of times.
Auto responders are like mini courses. For
someone with a mini course on
- Building a Cute Birdhouse
- How to Grow Show Stopping Roses
- Building the Perfect Barbeque
and lots and lots of other topics, an auto
responder may be the answer.
Auto responders let you keep in touch with your
visitors. It gives you yet another opportunity to demonstrate how
knowledgeable you are in a particular field, and how helpful
too.
With the vast, impersonal nature of the internet,
it is important to take time to develop as much of a personal
relationship with your visitors as possible.
If you want to succeed in network marketing it is
important to do what works. Email marketing works.
