Network Marketing Start Up Plan
Any network marketing start up plan needs to be founded on solid
preparation in order to be successful. As basic as this sounds, this is
the step that most MLM marketers ignore. That's probably why most
of them drop out within three months.
So let me re-phrase this:
|
Plan = Success
No Planning = No
Success |
It means that rushing to The Meeting
that is being held ONLY THIS SATURDAY is a losing proposition.
It means that any company that even
wants you to rush into joining them is probably a loser.
Stop. Do your homework.
(1) Plan for Many
Revenue Streams
Working for one MLM company just
doesn't cut it. Any number of things can happen with that one company.
It can go out of business. It can be bought out. It can
change its policies, or its payment structure.
Always, always, have additional
streams of income in your pocket. It gives you a sense of
freedom that is unbelievable.
(2) Plan for Your
Income Goals
OK. Let's be realistic here.
How much do you honestly think you can earn in a network marketing start
up?
| In 1998, Amway reported that the
average commission of active distributors was only $88 a month. |
Scary, isn't it.
In planning your income targets, look
only at two levels of commission: yours and the level immediately
below you. Those are the only two levels that you have any control
over whatsoever. MLM companies that tout a TEN TIER PAYOUT scheme
are frauds. Only count the chickens that you can see yourself.
All else is imaginary.
Other sources of income are hard to tie
down. A very unscientific survey in my online group showed that we
earned from $0.02 to $0.10 per visitor from our AdSense ads (the ad
group that you see at the top of this page and along the right hand
column). That doesn't sound like much. But when you grow
your business to 1,000 or more visitors a day, it becomes real money.
Affiliate sales from other companies is
very flexible. Some websites just seem to hit the right niche.
Some miss it. It may take some experimentation until you find the
right mix for your site.
(3) Plan Your
Expenses
Every business has expenses of some
sort.
In the old MLM start up model, there
are expenses
- for study manuals,
- for product that you must purchase
every month,
- for training sessions that you must
attend,
- for websites that you must purchase
from the affiliate company,
- for brochures that you must
purchase, etc. etc.
These costs can indeed run to several
hundred dollars a month. Detail them out to be sure.
In the New Network Marketing start up
model, your start up costs are much more modest. Include:
| Web site |
$299/year |
| Internet phone (Skype) |
$49/year |
I assume you already have a computer.
And most people have a high speed internet connection, which is very
helpful.
Other than that, it is BAM (Brains and
Motivation) that will drive your new start up business.
And it is a real business. It may
be a part time business. It may be a work at home style business.
But it is a business.
Your Odds of Having
a Successful Network Marketing Start Up Business
When approached as a real business,
your odds of success are much greater.
Those who devote lots of time to the
new business will likely become successful faster than those who have
limited time.
Those who take the time to plan their
business will likely be more successful than those who don't.
Starting a New Network Marketing
business is not easy. Few of us can learn it from our parents.
It's new territory, a new learning curve, new lingo, new everything.
But it is very, very do-able.
Thousands and thousands of people do have very successful Network
Marketing businesses, and you can too.
